Rolleicord 1V 1953-1954 Production Serial Numbers: 1.344.051-1.390.000. Camera #1352943. Lens: f3.5 Schneider Xenar #3466363. Shutter: Synchro-Compur MX. 1-1/500. B&T. Filter Size: Bayonet 1. This is the only Rolleicord model (except for the VB) that has the MX synchronization. Previous models have X or none at all. Coated lenses, bayonets on both lenses, and switch which permits double exposures. Lens #3466363 |
Rolleicord 3 (Type 2) 1952-1953 Production Serial Numbers: 1.157.000-1.344.050. Camera # 1306684. Lens: f3.5 CZJ Triotar #3361157. Shutter: Compur-Rapid 1-1/500 B&T. Filter Size: Bayonet 1 (on both lenses) This camera accepts the Rolleikin so it has the adjustable film pressure plate, but the Model 3 type 1 does not. Available with Triotar or Xenar lens. Exposure guide on back door. |
Rolleicord 2B (Type 3.) 1938-1939 Production Serial Numbers: 612.000-859.000 Camera #808727. Lens: f3.5 CZJ Triorar #2475754 Shutter: Compur. 1-1/300 B&T. Filter Size: Bayonet 1 (on taking lens only.) This is the only model with a cast nameplate and the double bayonet mount on the taking len only. Distance scale on foccusing knob with depth of field scale above, exposure guide on back door, eye-level critical focusing but no sports finder. Starting with this model, Franke & Heideke assigned a serial number to each camera rather than using the Zeiss lens number for identification. The number is found below the cast nameplate. |
Rolleicord Model 2 Type 1 1936-1937 Production Serial Numbers: 1.758.000-1.974.000 Camera # 1810513 (From Arthur Evans Colection) Lens: f3.5 CZJ Triotar # 1810513. Shutter: Rim set Compur. 1-1/300, B&T. Filter Size: 28mm push-on. This is the only Rolleicord with a f3.5 taking lens that has no bayonets on either lens. Hood incorporates critical eye-level focusing. Exposure guide on back door.. Metal etched nameplate. |
Rolleicord Model Vb (Type 1 ) 1962-1967 Production Serial Numbers: 2.600.000-2.649.999. Camera #VB 2620563. Lens: f3.5 Schneider Xenar #7931488. Shutter: Synchro-Compur MXV. 1-1/500 B&T. Filter Size: Bayonet 1. "VB" is is stamped before the serial number. . This camera has a removable hood. Type 1 has MX synchronization while the type 2 has X only. Coated lenses, film type reminder on focusing knob, and double bayonets on both lenses. Self timer. Available in black leather or Gray leather. |
Rolleicord 1 Type 1) Art Deco. 1933-1936. Production Serial Numbers: 1.460.000-1.760.000. Camera # 1480110. Lens: f4.5 Carl Zeiss Jena Triotar. Number same as Camera # Shutter: Rim Set Compur 1-1/300 & B. T. Filter: 28mm Push-on. The only Roleicord (and the only Rollei product) which featured the art-deco nickel plated design work. Eye level sports finder, exposure guide plus depth of field scales on back, external frame counter. Back could not be removed on the early models, but this was changed at about 33,552. |
Rolleicord 2A (Type 2) 1937-1938 Production Serial Numbers: 1.966.000-2.124.000 Camera # 1974977. Lens: f3.5 CZJ Triotar #1974977 Shutter: Compur. 1-1/300, B&T. Filter Size: Bayonet 1 (Taking lens only.) This one of only 2 models that had the bayonet mount on the taking lens only. This model has the metal etched nameplate, while the other (Type 3) has the cast nameplate. Exposure guide on back door. Critical eye-level focusing, peep windows for shutter speed and aperture controls. |
Rolleicord Va (Type 1) 1957-1958. Production Serial Numbers: 1.584.000-1.599.999. Camera #1595336. Lens: f3.5 SchneiderXenar #5221804. Shutter: Synchro0Compur MXV. 1-1/500 B&T. Filter Size: Bayonet 1. This model has a large focusing knob on the LEFT HAND side. The EVS coupling is rigid on this model but adjustable on the type 2. Tne EVS scales are on the left on this model, but on the right on the type 2. Film type reminder on focusing knob, coated lenses and doubl;e bayonets on both lenses. |
Rolleicord Vb (Type 3) 1962-1970 "White Face" Production Serial Numbers: 2.666.000-2.677.498. Camera #VB 2675054. Lens: f3.5 Schneider Xenar #12 112 538. Shutter: Deckel Synchro-Compur 1-1/500 B&T. Filter Size: Bayonet 1. A NEW front lens panel was introduced and nicknamed "White Face." with the new company name of "Rollei-Werke Franke & Heideke" below the taking lens. and serial number which is preceded by the letters VB. Only 11,498 type 3 were constructed. A new type of black leather with a coarse grain was used. Exposure guide on back door. Removable hood. X synchronization only. |
Rolleicord Va Type 2 1958-1961 Production Serial Numbers: 1.906.000-1.943.999. Camera #1924895. Lens: f3.5 Schneider Xenar #5635411. Shutter:Synchro-Compur MXV. 1-1/500 B&T. Filter Size: Bayonet 1. Same as the type 1 but the EVS coupling is adjustable. EV scales are on the right side. Exposure Guide on back door. MXV synchronization. Focusing knob with film reminder, distance measurement, and depth of field above on left side. |

Filter: 28mm Push-on. The type 1 and 2 are distinguished by their metal etched nameplates and f4.5 taking lenses. Type 1 has no sports finder. Type 2 has a sports finder. |

This is the only Rolleicord with a large focusing knob on the RIGHT HAND side. All previous models have the smaller knob on the left hand side. Rolleicord Vb Type 2 1968-1975 Production Serial Numbers: 2,650,000-2,665.999 Camera # Vb 2658138. Lens: f3.5 Xenar # 10 539 880 Shutter: Deckel Synchro-Compur X 1-1/500 B&T. Filter Size: Bayonet 1. Identifiers Vb is stamped before the serial number X synchronization only. This camera was available in black or gray leather, but most examples seem to be black. Note the small production run? Removable hood. Film type reminder on focusing knob. Bayonets on both lenses. Lenses are coated. This camera has 2 serial numbers. There is an additional number above the Rolleicord name: 0553/162211. |
